Студия художников имени В.В. Верещагина Министерства внутренних дел Российской Федерации была основана по приказу Министра внутренних дел СССР генерала армии Н.А. Щёлокова в 1969 г. с целью укрепления авторитета милиции, отображения истории органов внутренних дел, их героических будней; в целях повышения культурного уровня и эстетического воспитания личного состава . Первым художественным руководителем Студии был народный художник СССР Е.В. Вучетич. В 1993 г. Студии художников МВД России решением Правительства города Москвы было присвоено имя великого русского живописца и литератора, выдающегося художника-баталиста Василия Васильевича Верещагина, судьба и творческая деятельность которого неразрывно связаны с историей воинской славы. Цель профессионального коллектива художников Студии - формирование через произведение искусства верных приоритетов и воспитание лучших человеческих качеств героизма, патриотизма у зрителя и развитие самоуважения и любви к профессии у молодого поколения бойцов правопорядка. Творчество художников Студии является вкладом в развитие знания истории профессии и преемственности среди работников МВД, создание патриотической среды, правильное позиционирование полиции и верное формирование образа защитника правопорядка и Отечества у общества. Коллекция художественных произведений МВД России насчитывает около 2000 экспонатов, посвящённых истории ведомства. Studio artists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation named VV Vereshchagin was established by order of the Minister of internal Affairs of the USSR General of the army N. Shchelokov in 1969 with the objective of strengthening the police, display history of Internal Affairs bodies, their heroic everyday life; to enhance the cultural level and aesthetic education of employees. The first artdirector of the Studio was the national artist of the USSR E. Vuchetich. In 1993, the Studio of artists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was named by decision of the Moscow Government of the city after the great russian painter and writer, an outstanding battle artist Vasily Vereshchagin, destiny and creative activity are inextricably linked with the history of military glory. The purpose of the Studio artists - the formation right priorities in society and bring out the best human qualities of heroism and patriotism in the viewer and the development of self-esteem and love for profession among the younger generation of fighters of the rule of law. The creativity of the Studio artists is a contribution to the development of knowledge of the history of the profession and continuity among employees of the Internal Affairs Ministry, the creation of a patriotic environment, the correct positioning of the police and the correct formation of the image of the defender of law and order and the Motherland. The art collection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has 2000 exhibits dedicated to the history of the Department.
